         Raising the walls, 1972

Richmond Bethel Church was formed in 1970, but we have a heritage as part of the Mennonite Brethren that goes back to the mid-1500's. We are a Bible believing church whose lives have been changed because of the person of Jesus Christ.

  • late 1950s - a Sunday School mission starts on Westminster Highway near No. 2 Road in Richmond.
  • June 1970 - a small group organizes to form Richmond Bethel Church, and meets at the mission.
  • 1972 - the church expands and relocates to a parcel of land at 10200 No. 5 Road.
  • 1975 - a Christian school launches on the site.
  • 1977 - a daycare opens on the site and continues for the next 17 years.
  • 1990 - a group within the congregation forms a sister church on-site, the Richmond Chinese MB Church.
  • March 1997 - an expanded campus opens with joint facilities for Richmond Bethel Church, Richmond Chinese MB Church, and Richmond Christian School.
